We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to become a vital part of our Natural Resources, Nuclear, and Networks division, focusing on wastewater treatment projects.

Location : On-site opportunities available in various regions.

Contract Type : Permanent, Full Time – options for flexible and part-time hours may be discussed.

Key Responsibilities

The primary function of the Commissioning Engineer role involves the strategic planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning tasks for projects and programs, ensuring compliance with both Client and KIER standards.

Daily tasks will encompass:

  • Collaborating with Client representatives to develop the Commissioning Plan during the Design Phase.
  • Facilitating and recording commissioning meetings regularly, including a HAZCOMM review at the start of each project’s commissioning phase.
  • Ensuring that all commissioning documentation is consistently updated and accessible in the Common Data Environment, confirming that testing criteria are met.
  • Annotating drawings and documents modified during the commissioning process and uploading them as the foundation for final versions to be issued upon completion.
  • Leading the reliability and performance testing phase, including the creation and approval of inspection and test plans.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in addressing any defects that arise post-completion.

Qualifications and Skills Required

This position is ideal for individuals who possess:

  • Proven experience in the effective and safe commissioning of intricate projects within the water sector.
  • Familiarity with sewage and water treatment operations, systems, and standard M&E equipment.
  • Proficiency in producing clear and concise reports as part of the commissioning deliverables.
  • A valid CSCS or ECS card in a relevant discipline.
