Job Overview:

We are on the lookout for a caring and committed Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to become part of a dynamic educational environment in Luton.

In this role, you will be essential in assisting students with diverse special educational needs, ensuring they receive the personalised support necessary for their academic and emotional growth.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored one-on-one and small group assistance to students with SEN, modifying teaching approaches to suit individual learning preferences.
2. Support classroom educators in executing specialised educational plans and strategies tailored to each student's unique requirements.
3. Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to excel.

4. Collaborate closely with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and other educational staff to create and implement personalised learning objectives and interventions.

5. Monitor student progress and behaviour, offering constructive feedback to educators and families as needed.
6. Assist in applying sensory integration techniques and other therapeutic methods as required.

Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs, ideally in an educational setting.
2. A sincere commitment to fostering the academic and social growth of students with SEN.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
4. Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
5. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.
6. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
