About the Role
Mencap is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Cambridge. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities and provide emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
- Work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
- Support individuals to live more comfortably, dignified, liberated, and happy lives.
- Participate in planning and supporting activities outside of the house and in the community to promote skills and individuality.
- Support individuals with budget management, paying bills, housework, organizing appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
