Job Description

Sonovision UK - Ortec Group is seeking a highly skilled Tooling Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale programmes across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Develop and maintain process and methodology, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
    • Monitor programme performance and ensure timely delivery
    • Manage tooling P&L and budget
    • Provide weekly and monthly reports to internal and external stakeholders
    • Schedule programme inputs from Design and Manufacture functions
  • Manufacturing
    • Direct responsibility for Manufacturing Engineer
    • Oversight and responsibility for Approved suppliers and their performance
    • Develop and implement manufacturing Supply Chain strategies
  • Design
    • Direct responsibility for Design Engineer(s)
    • Oversight and responsibility for the design process, tools, and infrastructure
  • Liaison
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across commercial, procurement, design, and manufacture domains
    • Onsite presence at customer sites and primary Point of Contact (POC) for contracts
  • HSE
    • Prepare Risk Reviews for onsite activity for company personnel
    • Maintain HSE plans and Policy
    • Train company personnel on HSE aspects
  • Quality and Performance
    • Interface with and support transnational quality function
    • Support onsite and offsite validation exercises
Requirements
  • Experience in project management of large programmes, including commercial, financial, resources, and technical aspects
  • Minimum degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in the aeronautical/aerospace domain
  • Working knowledge of design and manufacturing principles, technologies, and supply chains
  • Experience with Tooling equipment (design and manufacture) is a distinct advantage
