About the Role

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit three Senior Clinical Fellows in Arthroplasty Surgery to enhance our capacity and improve the delivery of high-quality Joint Replacement Surgery to patients referred from General Practitioners, other secondary and tertiary care providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of the Clinical Governance structure developed by the Trust to monitor, maintain, and develop the quality and effectiveness of care.
  • Contribute to the development of medical staff through individual appraisal, including audit of personal clinical practice, involvement in department/speciality reviews, and attention to continuing professional development.
  • Undertake safe and ethical clinical practice, responding promptly to any circumstances that may result in increased clinical risk of adverse outcome.
  • Have the opportunity to undertake independent supervised operating and outpatient clinics, as well as research and audit projects.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • FRCS (Orthopaedic) or an appropriate higher surgical qualification.
  • BLS.

Desirable

  • ATLS.

Experience

  • Significant experience as an orthopaedic trainee/SpR.
  • Proven experience in orthopaedic surgery and arthroplasty techniques.

Desirable

  • Subspecialty experience in arthroplasty.

Skills

  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
