PepsiCo R&D Technical Stewardship Project Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Technical Stewardship Project Lead to join our team in Leicester, UK. As a key member of our Europe Foods R&D team, you will be responsible for leading the development and technical aspects of Technical Stewardship projects.

Your primary focus will be on leading ingredient and product development for Technical Stewardship projects, including prototyping, manufacturing trials, and preparing technical documentation. You will work closely with Global Function, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to ensure business continuity and protect our license to operate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scope, align, and deliver a portfolio of assigned Technical Stewardship projects through individual contribution and delivery through others.
  • Apply and ensure team compliance with Technical and Business Governance processes.
  • Contribute to or lead workstreams to improve ways of working across the team, improving business processes, sharing knowledge, and developing others through coaching and embedding best practices.
  • Data-driven product design - demonstrated application of consumer product testing, sensorial, and analytical data to ensure excellent product launches through creation of quality technical product specifications.
  • Work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization with many stakeholders by leveraging a combination of functional and business expertise to make clear technical recommendations to business partners.

Requirements include:

  • Graduate in a Food Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Effective technical project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Coordination and execution of factory trials to meet trial objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of consumer product testing, sensory, and analytical methods.
  • Coordination of 3rd party manufacturers and/or suppliers to meet business goals.
  • In-depth analytical skills to interpret complex data and distill into meaningful information, interpreting process data, experimental design, and statistical inference.
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives and work effectively in an environment of ambiguity and change.
  • Valid driving license.
