Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead a prestigious infrastructure-based project. As a key member of our team, you'll take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, ensuring client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports
  • Apply Value Management techniques and involve our specialist team where necessary
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting the final cost plan
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring effective pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation
  • Ensure post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively
  • Manage cost checking and valuation work, producing monthly post-contract cost reports for clients
  • Value engineering and life cycle costing
  • Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed
  • Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities
  • Work with Directors to construct bids for new work
  • Improve cost management procedures, templates, and products to enhance client service
  • Staff management, including input into recruitment interviews, resource management, and junior staff appraisals

Requirements

  • Experience working on major Rail projects
  • Proven Cost/Commercial Management experience
  • MRICS preferred
  • NEC3 contracts, particularly Option C – Target Cost
  • Post-contract administration
  • Experience working on Major Programmes and Projects
  • Experience in the Infrastructure sector (Rail, air, power, highways)
  • Experience leading and managing teams
