Support Specialist for Students with Special Educational Needs

Salary: £408 per week

Position Overview

Connex Education is partnering with a specialized educational institution focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to recruit a Support Specialist dedicated to full-time assistance.

About the Educational Institution

This institution is committed to catering to students with diverse needs, including SEMH, ADHD, attachment difficulties, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will provide support to Key Stage 3 and 4 students both in group settings and on an individual basis.

All staff members are dedicated to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. They are looking for a Support Specialist who is committed, resilient, and passionate about improving the educational experiences of students.

Role Details

This role is set to commence at the earliest opportunity and will continue until the conclusion of the academic year.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEND/SEMH students.
  • Understanding of child development and educational requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DBS clearance on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proven patience, empathy, and composure in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
