Victim Support is seeking a dedicated Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to provide vital support to male survivors of domestic abuse.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals facing challenging circumstances. You will work within a collaborative environment, utilizing both face-to-face and virtual interactions to deliver comprehensive support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement safety measures and develop tailored support systems for victims of domestic abuse, prioritizing their well-being and security.
  • Deliver a high-quality service that is responsive to individual needs and risk assessments, ensuring each survivor receives appropriate and effective assistance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-agency frameworks to coordinate care and ensure the safety and protection of victims within a comprehensive support network.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique barriers and support needs faced by male survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Possess a strong grasp of the profound impact domestic abuse has on victims and their families, recognizing the multifaceted nature of its consequences.
  • Exhibit proficiency in conducting thorough risk assessments and developing comprehensive safety plans tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities within the context of domestic abuse support.
  • Bring proven experience in delivering direct services to vulnerable individuals, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and effective communication skills.
  • Showcase exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, enabling you to effectively represent and empower survivors.
