Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Planning: Formulate and execute comprehensive commercial strategies for projects, emphasizing cost control, pricing strategies, and profitability assessments.
  • Contract Oversight: Manage contract negotiations and ensure proper administration while adhering to legal and contractual obligations.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee project financials, track expenditures, and initiate cost-reduction strategies.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and offering customized solutions.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential commercial risks and challenges.
  • Procurement Management: Oversee procurement processes, including supplier negotiations and selection.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of commercial specialists.
  • Reporting: Generate and present regular financial and commercial reports to upper management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the civil engineering and construction sector.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Proficient leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software and financial tools.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Certifications such as CIPS or RICS are beneficial.
