About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Cellular Pathology team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake processing of histological and cytological specimens for diagnostic and monitoring purposes.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and appropriate analytical data/results.
  • Deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of the patients and service users.
  • Supervise training and support staff as directed and required.
Requirements
  • HCPC approved Biomedical Science degree (BSc) or other HCPC approved degree/top ups.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of current CPD activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in a medical laboratory.
  • IT competency (Microsoft, Outlook, hospital IT systems).
