Job Opportunity for a Lecturer in Health and Social Care

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our faculty at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students, designing curriculum materials, and conducting research in the field.

Our institution has achieved outstanding results in the National Student Survey, scoring above the sector average in all themes. We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and are seeking a Lecturer who shares our vision.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area, teaching qualifications, and previous lecturing experience. They will also have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work to ensure all learning outcomes are met
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as required
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials, including live online learning
  • Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making and develop productive working relationships
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations
  • Understand and keep up to date with student support to ensure our students have the full support and guidance they need
  • Participate in the GBS performance management programme, meeting clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager

Requirements:

  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area
  • Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice or FHEA etc
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the industry of your subject
