The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a National Integrated Panelling Authority Specialist.
This is a key role working in a high tempo and integrated work environment, comprising military personnel and Australian Public Servants at all levels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for panelling soldiers, sailors, aviators, officers and civilians on individual training courses, and will provide support, guidance and advice to the work area.
The role is accountable to perform and achieve procedural, operational, and business support functions, and to gain and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret policy, legislation and procedures and provide support, guidance and advice to the work area.
- Provide assistance to personnel, including transfers and trainee management.
- Coordinate and contribute to the work of the team, and may be required to coach or supervise a small team.
- Set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance.
The successful candidate will be a team-focused individual who is able to establish and maintain strong relationships within a network of internal and external stakeholders.
They will be a results-oriented self-starter, with good judgement and the ability to work independently or with limited guidance.
They will have great attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to competing priorities and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
They will be well-organised, with strong organisational skills and the ability to interpret and practically apply policy in a business context.
Strong problem-solving skills, practical personnel administration and previous experience working in a personnel management database, ideally in a training environment, will be an advantage.
They must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, possess good written and verbal communication skills and enjoy a challenge.
They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
