Policy Manager - Regulatory Affairs

As a Policy Manager at Pay.UK, you will play a crucial role in shaping our regulatory landscape. Your responsibilities will include assessing, managing, and influencing regulatory policy to ensure our operations align with evolving industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert counsel and guidance on assigned initiatives, focusing on regulatory goals and presenting key aspects of projects/programmes to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and Pay.UK regulatory policy risks and issues.
  • Lead on answering key regulatory policy questions or handling regulatory issues within allocated projects or programmes.
  • Conduct analysis and make informed recommendations to executive and Board-level committees.
  • Engage with regulators on a spectrum of policy issues, advising the Head of Regulatory Affairs on setting the agenda, tone, and content of interactions.
  • Oversee interactions with regulatory bodies concerning designated policy areas.
  • Horizon scan, research, and analyse regulatory developments to determine implications for Pay.UK.
  • Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory policy matters, ensuring ongoing relationships and recommendations are taken forward.
  • Lead on producing compelling responses to regulatory consultations and reviews that can influence regulators for the benefit of Pay.UK.
  • Demonstrate expertise in examining, crafting, and enacting policy measures, ideally gained in the domain of financial services or a comparable regulatory setting.
  • Direct peers in project endeavours, promoting efficient outcomes and aiding in skill advancement.
  • Sound technical understanding in relevant regulation and the regulatory environment, including financial services, the payment industry, and/or other regulated markets.
