Job Opportunity

Planet Pharma is seeking a highly skilled Protein Biochemist to join our team in a contract capacity with a leading pharmaceutical company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the expression and purification of recombinant proteins, including multi-pass membrane proteins, for structural studies.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project teams, enzymologists, crystallographers, and CADD groups, to ensure seamless information exchange and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology developments in protein expression and purification, particularly techniques for producing recombinant proteins, including multi-pass membrane proteins.

Requirements:

  • PhD holders or highly experienced Bachelor/MSc degree holders with a strong background in protein biochemistry.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in labs recognized for their expertise in multi-pass membrane proteins.
  • Familiarity with insect and mammalian cell expression systems.
  • Independence in purification techniques, including affinity chromatography, ion exchange, SEC, and HIC.
  • Extensive working knowledge of AKTA purification platforms and associated software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with software used in manipulating protein and DNA sequences (VNTI) and molecular visualization of proteins (PyMOL or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
