Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodeaton Manor School. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching staff in the implementation of the National Curriculum and Developmental Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the teaching staff in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals, groups, or short-term whole classes.
  • Monitor pupils' progress, assess, record, and report on their achievement, progress, and development.
  • Manage and develop a specialist area within the school, including the allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal, and training for other teaching assistants.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members, pupils, parents, and carers, and with education, health, and social care professionals.
  • Contribute to meetings with parents and carers by providing feedback on pupil progress, attainment, and barriers to learning.
Requirements:
  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and maths.
  • First-aid training or willingness to complete it.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent, or willingness to complete the qualification within 6 months of starting in the role.
  • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting.
  • Experience working with children/young people with special educational needs.
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities.
  • Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities (under supervision).
