About the Role

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Hampshire CAMHS Fareham & Gosport Community Team. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing specialist assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments of mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex mental health needs and provide case management and lead professional services as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with families and carers to ensure their needs are met and they are fully involved in the care of their child.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the service area.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to promote communication and good practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service-wide initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • Registered professional with current registration appropriate to the job role.
  • Extensive post-qualifying experience in a relevant service area.
  • Experience of supervising staff and students.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to the service area.
