The Institute of the Motor Industry. limited is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our team. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and breakdown coverage on materials handling machinery on a field service engineering basis. You will also provide reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area and complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out PPM and breakdown coverage on materials handling machinery.
  2. Provide reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area.
  3. Complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment.
  4. Manage spares placed in the van overnight.

Requirements:

  1. Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment; automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable.
  2. Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills.
  3. Ideally hold a Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
