Job Overview

RBW Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex automation systems.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and controls, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will be working closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Manage access control, software revisions, backups, and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems.
  • Functional Specifications Review: Evaluate hardware and software specs for new automated equipment (utility, process, filling, packaging, and inspection).
  • Electrical Control Systems: Read and understand control system diagrams, red-line them to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Qualification and Compliance: Perform IQ/OQ/PQ on installed systems, ensuring compliance with regulations (21 CFR Part 11, cGMP).
  • Vendor Interaction: Define user requirements, review vendor automation design documentation, and support engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand complex ladder logic, PLC-based controllers, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring.
  • Risk Assessment: Prepare risk assessments for automated systems.
  • Change Controls: Manage changes to control systems.
  • Supervision: Oversee junior engineers, contractors, and maintenance staff.
