About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Controls Specialist to join our team at RBW Consulting. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Administration: Manage access control, software revisions, backups, and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems to ensure seamless operation.
  • Functional Specifications Review: Evaluate hardware and software specifications for new automated equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Electrical Control Systems: Read and understand control system diagrams, red-line them to reflect as-built conditions, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Qualification and Compliance: Perform IQ/OQ/PQ on installed systems, ensuring compliance with regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11 and cGMP.
  • Vendor Interaction: Define user requirements, review vendor automation design documentation, and provide technical support to engineering teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand complex ladder logic, PLC-based controllers, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring to resolve technical issues.
  • Risk Assessment: Prepare risk assessments for automated systems, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Change Controls: Manage changes to control systems, ensuring that all modifications are properly documented and approved.
  • Supervision: Oversee junior engineers, contractors, and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
