About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Moderator to join our team at Pearson. As a Principal Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our assessment delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the standardisation of Moderators and ensure that the standards of an externally assessed unit(s)/module(s)/component(s) are maintained and consistent with the unit specification and assessment criteria.
  • Oversee the quality assurance process, including the sampling of supervisors'/Moderators' initial moderating and backread responses, and monitoring the progress of supervisors/Moderators.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process and provide support and written responses to complaints where required.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment team to ensure the timely delivery of contracted unit(s)/module(s)/component(s) and provide feedback to supervisors/Moderators.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
  • History of moderation and/or moderating a regulated qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide and co-ordinate training such as standardisation and other standards-related activities.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.
Desirable
  • High level of IT proficiency.
  • Leadership experience in delivering qualifications.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements.
  • Report writing within a regulated industry.
