About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Visiting Moderator to join our team at Pearson. As a Visiting Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our examination processes.

Responsibilities

As a Visiting Moderator, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres.
  • Undertaking, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
  • Completing and submitting centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • UK-based teaching experience in the relevant qualification and subject.
  • A high level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • IT literacy.
