Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Instructor in Foundation Studies to teach on the Access to Further Education course. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning programs to 16-18 year olds in Foundation Learning, across different levels of further education.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a personal tutor and a proven track record of developing employability skills, promoting independence, and planning learners' next steps to progress further in education, employment or training. A post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2 are highly desirable, although the ability to obtain these within an agreed timeframe is also acceptable.
The Access to Further Education course is designed to develop maths and English skills, as well as vocational and personal skills such as confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork. Students engage in weekly maths, English, Tutorial, ICT and vocational lessons. The Foundation Learning department is a positive and well-respected place to work, where colleagues work effectively together to ensure all stakeholders get the best value from every aspect of the curriculum.
