About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Dudley site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing machinery output and product quality, minimizing plant downtime, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response in specific areas of the factory.
  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Section Manager/Engineering Manager and work with the operations department to minimize plant disruption.
  • Follow good engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager/Principal Engineer.
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental Issues.
  • Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled plant downtime and minimize downtime by following good engineering practice.
  • Production of Engineering Shift Report.
  • Management of contractors at site.
Requirements
  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience.
  • Electrical or Welding/Fabrication experience.
  • Mechanical fitting skills.
  • Food manufacture experience.
  • PLC experience.
