About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Dudley site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing machinery output and product quality, minimizing plant downtime, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in electrical or welding/fabrication, mechanical fitting, and food manufacture. A proven track record of effective preventative maintenance, efficient breakdown response, and good engineering practice is essential.

As a Lead Engineer, you will work closely with the operations department to minimize plant disruption and ensure that all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines.

We offer a competitive salary, additional lead allowance, and shift allowance, as well as comprehensive training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize machinery output and product quality
  • Minimize plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Section Manager/Engineering Manager
  • Follow good engineering standards and good hygiene practice
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental Issues

Requirements:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • 6+ years of engineering experience
  • Electrical or Welding/Fabrication experience
  • Mechanical fitting skills
  • Food manufacture experience
  • PLC experience
