Fife Council is committed to safeguarding public funds and ensuring the responsible use of resources to serve our community. We are seeking a Corporate Fraud Officer to lead our efforts in identifying, investigating, and preventing fraud across all areas of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management in providing a professional and effective Corporate Fraud service to Fife Council.
- Develop and deliver training and awareness sessions to promote a strong anti-fraud culture within the organization.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support fraud prevention efforts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate fraud risks.
- Provide recommendations for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Utilize data analysis and interpretation skills to inform fraud prevention strategies.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or willingness to study for the qualification.
- Experience in fraud investigation and prevention, preferably in a public sector or local authority environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in IT and data analysis tools.
