Fundraising Officer

Groundwork East is seeking a skilled Fundraising Officer to join our team. As a Fundraising Officer, you will play a crucial role in generating income for our organization, primarily for Groundwork activities across the East of England.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team that is changing places and changing lives. As a Fundraising Officer, you will be responsible for identifying income sources, approaching funders and partners, developing and writing bids, and contributing towards the annual income of the Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity.
- Use your communication skills to write high-quality, persuasive copy that brings the charity's work to life for potential funders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to secure funding and support for Groundwork activities.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies and plans to achieve income targets.
- Work closely with the business development team to identify new income streams and opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of successful grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors, or similar.
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking high-quality research.
- The ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of wide-ranging and complex topics.
- A genuine interest and enthusiasm towards fundraising work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
