Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Farm Financial Manager to oversee daily operations, crop planning, and management of farm personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, familiarity with farm financial management, and the ability to contribute to the financial success and sustainability of the farm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the farm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Financial Transaction Management: Record and reconcile financial transactions related to farm activities.
  • Budget Development and Monitoring: Collaborate with farm management to develop and monitor budgets for various farm activities, including crop production, equipment maintenance, and operational expenses.
  • Financial Forecasting and Analysis: Prepare financial forecasts and identify potential financial risks or opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Payroll Management: Process payroll for farm employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage payroll tax reporting and compliance, and prepare and file tax returns for the farm.
  • Cost Analysis and Optimization: Analyze costs associated with crop production, livestock management, and other farm activities, and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in an agricultural or farm setting.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis, familiarity with farm-specific financial considerations and regulations, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
