Principal Clinical Informatician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical Informatician to join our team at Kings College Hospital. As a key member of our AI and Data Science group, CogStack, you will play a critical role in developing predictive algorithms using Machine Learning techniques applied to healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities- Developing Machine Learning Algorithms: Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms for diagnosis, prognosis, and follow-up of complex diseases.
- Developing Data Analytics Solutions: Develop data analytics solutions in response to business strategy and clinical need, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Leading Clinical Analytics Platform: Lead the development and maintenance of the clinical analytics platform, ensuring it meets integration and performance expectations.
- Collaborating with Stakeholders: Collaborate with data requestors, collaborators, developers, and management to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Quality Management and Governance: Participate in internal and external audits, monitor the quality of the service provided, and ensure adherence to information governance standards.
- Education and Experience: Educated to a BSc degree level with relevant domain knowledge, skills, and experience in the informatics field. MSc or PhD in Computer Science, mathematics, statistics, physics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, data science, or other quantitative field preferred.
- Skills and Competencies: Proficient in R and/or Python programming, experience with data science libraries, machine learning frameworks, and collaborative software development. Strong analytical and data visualization skills, ability to produce software in a quality-managed environment.
- Leadership and Management: Experience in leading and managing a bioinformatics and data analytics team, developing management policies and procedures, and developing informatics workflows in a complex clinical setting.
