Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Highway Maintenance Supervisor to join our Transportation team at Kier Group. This role is part of our esteemed maintenance works contract supporting Somerset County Council's road network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Planned Works Manager in programming, managing, and delivering planned works, ensuring compliance with program and maintenance requirement plans.
  • Supervise daily allocation and management of works and resources, including emergency response, remedial repairs, site inductions, briefings, toolbox talks, and maintaining records.
  • Promote health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example for other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities.
  • Implement the Somerset IMS, ensuring teams follow processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and emergency services as required, communicating with the Fleet/Transport Manager to ensure vehicle and plant maintenance is up-to-date.

Requirements:

  • Lead and motivate teams successfully, with experience working in the highways industry, including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery.
  • Hold an SSSTS or higher, possess a full driving license, and be able to drive.
  • Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
