As a vital member of our dedicated team, you will play a key role in executing a variety of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing initiatives.
Guided by the team leader, you will collaborate across multiple sectors, ensuring daily management of concerns, providing service users with accurate advice and support, and promoting a positive culture of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing throughout the organization.
Effective communication is crucial in this position; therefore, you must be a confident communicator capable of engaging proactively with all levels of the organization.
Note: The selected candidate will be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for after-hours support related to lone working, on a one in three/two in six basis, with an associated on-call allowance.

Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, you should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing. We expect you to have prior experience in this field, hold a NEBOSH qualification, and possess the ability to interpret business requirements into effective policies and procedures.
Your application should reflect your capability to work independently on a daily basis. Given your close interactions with clients, it is essential to showcase how you have utilized data and insights to address and resolve Health, Safety, and Wellbeing challenges effectively.
Strong communication skills are essential. You must be able to convey complex information clearly and persuasively, ensuring it influences appropriate actions.
Collaboration is key; thus, we will assess your ability to maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and promote Health, Safety, and Wellbeing across the organization.
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, ensuring that no two days are alike. As a relatively small organization, you will engage in diverse Health, Safety, and Wellbeing activities, including:
- Interpreting regulations and procedures to provide precise guidance to managers and staff, ensuring risks are understood and mitigated effectively.
- Developing and continuously improving policies and procedures, ensuring staff can access necessary information promptly.
- Managing Health, Safety, and Wellbeing requests through the People Unit management system and overseeing the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) and office furniture.
- Administering the display screen equipment (DSE) training and risk assessment online system to ensure compliance and processing requests for ergonomic equipment.
- Supporting the implementation of our lone working policy, ensuring staff and managers are well-informed of their responsibilities and adequately trained.
- Providing after-hours support as needed, making decisions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Collecting and analyzing Health, Safety, and Wellbeing statistics, accident reports, and relevant sickness data to identify trends and make informed recommendations.
- Ensuring personal and organizational data is managed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the development of strategic initiatives for the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team and the broader organization.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing environment.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage a diverse workload.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable Criteria
- Training Qualification.
- Willingness to pursue the NEBOSH Diploma.
