Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Head Chef to become a vital part of our Excelcare Holdings team. You will play a key role in a nurturing and supportive environment, delivering exceptional meal experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our residents. Excelcare Holdings is a reputable family-run organization with over 34 years of experience in providing top-notch care to elderly individuals with various needs, including dementia and physical disabilities.   • Competitive Salary: £15 per hour
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks)
  • Work Schedule: 5 shifts per week from 7am – 3pm, including alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals using high-quality, fresh ingredients.
  • Develop weekly meal plans, considering individual dietary needs.
  • Collaborate with the Home Manager to manage stock ordering within budget constraints.
  • Partner with healthcare professionals to ensure meal plans align with residents' support plans and dietary assessments.
  • Uphold quality assurance standards in the kitchen.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Health & Safety regulations, Food Hygiene standards, COSHH, and infection control protocols.
  • Engage in meaningful interactions with residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and respect.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in catering for large groups.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a catering role.
  • At least 12 months of kitchen management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with residents and staff.
