Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver/Highways Operative

We are seeking a skilled HGV Class 2 Driver/Highways Operative to join our team at W P RECRUITMENT HR LTD. As a key member of our civil engineering team, you will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles and performing various tasks related to highways maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate HGVs safely and efficiently, adhering to technical specifications and health & safety guidelines.
  • Perform vehicle checks, basic maintenance, and safe operation of plant equipment.
  • Collect and deliver materials, unloading vehicles and using barrows as required.
  • Participate in tarmacking, kerbing, concreting, and general groundwork activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Valid Category C Licence and commercial driving experience.
  • Experience within civil engineering, construction, or highways industry.
  • Flexibility with duties and ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
  • Physical fitness due to the nature of the job.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate: £12.20-12.48 per hour.
  • Overtime at 1.5 times the hourly rate (when available).
