Job Summary

This is a Fixed-term Appointment as a Head Office Principal Security Advisor in the Head Office Safety Security Business Resilience, Technology and Accommodation Team. Your responsibilities will be as described in this job advert. The reason why you are appointed for a fixed period is due to temporary vacancy that has arisen. This post will therefore begin on your appointment for 12 months with the possibility to extend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set policy, governance, and assurance arrangements for Head Office and Main Building.
  • Advise the Senior Security Risk Coordinator on security and resilience policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Deputy PSYA, Establishment Security Officer, and other key members of the Safety, Security, and Resilience team to ensure the successful implementation of security and resilience policies within Head Office.
  • Develop strategies and improvement plans in Security and Resilience.
  • Ensure your team is managing security risk across the threat spectrum of terrorism, espionage, sabotage, subversion, and organized crime.
  • Brief Ministers and senior officials on security and resilience matters of Main Building, working closely with the Private Offices and the Main Building community to build a strong security culture.
  • Be a key member of the Main Building Incident Management Command Group, helping to manage incidents and running the secretariat, helping to lead business recovery activities.
  • Have a wider awareness of the changing priorities and responsibilities and be able to work flexibly, distinguishing the preferable from the critical.

Experience

  • A proven record of delivering within the security field - policy or operational delivery.
  • Evidence of responding to resilience issues in an operational environment and the ability to demonstrate risk management processes.
  • Desirable member of the security institute and/or business continuity management.
