Position Overview

Role Summary

The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer is tasked with overseeing the design and implementation of all mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to both project requirements and industry regulations for Multi Fuel Generation Projects globally. This role also contributes to the enhancement of engineering methodologies and best practices while supporting the business development team with innovative concepts and engineering solutions.

This position holds a critical responsibility for maintaining quality, processes, and the high standards expected by our clients.

While the role is ideally situated in the Southeast of England, flexible working arrangements are available, allowing for remote work with necessary travel to various offices and client locations.

  • Collaborate in the creation of a Design Delivery Schedule in conjunction with clients, Project Managers, design teams, and consultants.
  • Design mechanical systems for the production of technical drawings and schematics for all mechanical services, containment, and control systems.
  • Coordinate with the BIM/CAD team for the production of drawings.
  • Review and refine mechanical specifications.
  • Monitor design deliverables closely to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Engage in design meetings, providing ongoing input to enhance design efficiency and reduce unnecessary work.
  • Prioritize design tasks and manage assignments to the design team.
  • Collaborate on new design challenges and research initiatives with the team.
  • Provide input for procurement packages and maintain familiarity with local and international standards, regulations, and technical inquiries from various teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background in mechanical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in engineering design and construction.
  • Experience in designing Gas/Diesel generation systems.
  • Familiarity with working in a BIM environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
