Exciting Opportunity for Assistant Psychologist

This is an exciting opportunity for an eager and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our inpatient mental health services. Our team provides a clinical psychology service to clients referred to the inpatients service, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Ward Manager and Ward Psychologist.

Main Duties
  • Assist in the provision of a clinical psychology service to clients referred to the inpatients service.
  • Work independently according to a plan agreed with the Ward Manager and Ward Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
  • Help recover service provision following COVID-19 related disruption.
  • Support colleagues within inpatients mental health services for example via one-to-one or group intervention.
  • Provide input to, as required, therapeutic groups (including on digital platforms).

Person Specification

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or substance/alcohol abuse.
  • Previous experience as an assistant psychologist or Allied health professional assistant.
