Job Title: Accounting - Tax Preparer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to join our team at Reed. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of tax law and be able to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframes.
  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise.
  • Meet with clients to gather information and explain options and their implications in simple terms.
  • Research, analyse and interpret changing tax legislation in both the UK and overseas.
  • Meet with clients and collate information.
  • Work with tax law and revenue provisions.
  • Liaise and negotiate with HMRC on behalf of the client.
  • Create tax strategies for clients and plan their financial futures.
  • Carry out detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advise on how to minimise a client's liability.
  • Establish and structure family trusts.
  • Estate planning and advise on tax residence and domicile matters.
  • Draft Wills and Power of Attorney documentation.
  • Provide guidance on indirect taxation issues such as VAT, customs planning and environmental taxes.
  • Produce reports and presentations for clients.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Tax based role.
  • Ideal ACCA qualification.
  • A logical and analytical mind.
  • The ability to interpret and explain complex legislation to non-specialists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
