Clinical Ward Leader - Band 7 Winter Escalation Unit

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume continuous responsibility and accountability for departmental management, optimizing resources to ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained around the clock.

Professional Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Ensure the independent delivery of evidence-based nursing care through expert clinical assessment, care planning, delivery, evaluation, and advice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of your work, including management of junior staff and patient care, functioning as an autonomous clinical practitioner.
  • Competently undertake expanded roles and assess the competence of other clinical staff to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Utilize independent judgment to initiate appropriate interventions in complex situations prior to medical input.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring clarity and compliance with Trust and NMC standards.
  • Identify service development priorities and communicate effectively with the Matron regarding all relevant issues.

Qualifications Required:

Essential:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Completion of ENB 998/997/mentorship module or equivalent
  • Diploma/Degree or in progress

Desirable:

  • Completion of a First Line Management Course
