Our client's unique 4 x flex 8-day working fortnight is a highlight for the team, allowing you to enjoy every Friday off, providing you with more time for personal pursuits.
Compensation can reach up to £41,500.
Working Hours:
Monday to Wednesday: 7 AM to 5 PM
Thursday: 7 AM to 4:30 PM
Friday: OFF

This role is intended to support off-peak activities for an anticipated duration of 6 months in the form of a fixed-term contract, based at our client's site.
You will be immersed in a CNC precision machining environment, where you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and selecting tools, as well as operating various machine tools, including multi-axis machining centers with different programming languages (3 to 6 axis) to produce R&D, high-value one-off or low-volume production components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of machining processes and tooling/fixture design.
- Optimize tool selection and design while collaborating with tooling suppliers.
- Mentor and train junior staff, including apprentices.
- Work according to specifications, procedures, and engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance work procedures and processes.
- Identify and resolve machine issues, implementing corrective action plans.
- Prioritize workload to meet commitments and support production schedules, optimizing machine utilization.
- Maintain high-quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings to produce compliant products.
- Proven CNC Milling experience; turning experience is a plus.
- Proficient in programming/post-processing using Fanuc & Heidenhain languages.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with multi-axis machining methods (3 to 6 axis).
- Strong knowledge of inspection techniques and measuring equipment.
- General engineering workshop practices and proven manufacturing experience.
- Ability to follow written and verbal process instructions.
- Capability to work independently from concept to manufacture.
- Commitment to housekeeping and 6S standards within the work area.
- Understanding of mechanical and manual lifting processes.
- High level of CoSHH and health & safety awareness.
- Competent computer skills, including MS Office and MRP systems.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
