About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and care to patients with respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung cancer.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
  • Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the design and implementation of new services and programs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • MRCP UK (or equivalent) and entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.
  • Experience in teaching and education, including the development and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead a team and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute to the development of our respiratory services.
