Job Title: Second Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare. As a Second Chef, you will play a key role in assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus for our residents.

About the Role:
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development and kitchen management
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Create a warm, efficient and fun environment
  • Work within budget and complete regular audits
  • Manage stock control

Requirements:
  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP
  • Experience working with fresh seasonal food
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment
  • Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
