Job Title: Community Specialist - Fixed Term Contract

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Community Specialist to join our team on a fixed-term contract. As a Community Specialist, you will play a crucial role in making effective use of available health and care data to improve our understanding of the needs of the population within our catchment area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex public health-related intelligence/data to inform policy and strategy development.
  • Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data and information are used effectively.
  • Manage and maintain information and performance monitoring systems.
  • Develop and implement information reporting solutions.
  • Provide specialist support to Consultant(s) in Public Health, public health managers, and the Health Inequalities Programme Board.
Requirements:
  • First degree in a relevant topic, such as epidemiology, medical statistics, or statistics.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Business Intelligence software and application to public health issues.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical packages, such as Excel, R, Python, or SPSS.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Masters in Public Health.
  • Qualification in epidemiology or a related field.
