Consultant Geriatrician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to older adults with complex medical needs, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine, with experience in peri-operative and surgical liaison medicine. They will be able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams and have a thorough understanding of principles of medical audit.

The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the General Unselected Medical Take, weekend Frailty and Gerontology support, as well as the out-of-hours Gerontology telephone on-call rota. They will also be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Department of Clinical Gerontology and the Acute Specialties Medicine Care Group, contributing to teaching and training of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care to older adults with complex medical needs
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services
  • Contribute to the General Unselected Medical Take and weekend Frailty and Gerontology support
  • Play an active role in the general workload of the Department of Clinical Gerontology and the Acute Specialties Medicine Care Group
  • Contribute to teaching and training of junior staff
Requirements
  • Full Registration with GMC
  • Name on GMC Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment
  • Full MRCP
  • Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD)
  • Wide experience in all aspects of peri-operative and surgical liaison medicine, and in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine
