Job Title: Probate Legal Assistant

Location: Doncaster (hybrid working available)

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Probate Legal Assistant to join our team at Reed. As a Probate Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our probate solicitors in managing the administration of estates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting solicitors with the management of probate files, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, including wills, grants of probate, and letters of administration, with a focus on attention to detail and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting asset searches and valuations, utilizing your analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other relevant parties, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Managing and updating case management systems, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the team.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies, staying up-to-date with changes and developments in the field.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
  • Providing excellent customer service, responding to queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a probate admin / legal assistant role, with a strong understanding of estate administration and inheritance tax matters.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work products.

Desirable:

  • Legal qualification or training, with a strong understanding of probate law and procedures.
  • Experience with estate administration and inheritance tax matters, with a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances involved.
