Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Craven Arms Appletreewick. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective service
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar ranking role in a fast-paced professional kitchen
  • Creativity and passion for local food with a focus on delivering exciting, traditional, well-cooked, and well-balanced dishes
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of costing and hitting GP targets
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the kitchen crew, front-of-house crew, customers, and suppliers
  • Desire to progress yourself and the team and be part of an exciting and well-known establishment with a great reputation
