Position Overview: ERT, Inc is looking for accomplished professionals to enhance the capabilities of the Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR). We have several openings across different educational and experience backgrounds. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing small teams in executing tasks
- Collaborating on the design and engineering of systems/software
- Creating tools and interfaces for calibration
- Ensuring the quality of satellite instruments and data products
- Engaging with various satellite instruments, including the JPSS and GOES-R series
- Integrating software for instrument calibration and validation
- Conducting software development and managing systems
- Proposing alternative concepts for system design
Required Skills:
- 6-11 years of experience in satellite applications
- Experience in instrument calibration and validation
- Proficiency in programming languages such as FORTRAN, C/C++, Java, Python, IDL, and MatLab
- Familiarity with data formats like netCDF and HDF
- Capabilities in software configuration and system administration
- Understanding of radiative transfer and/or AI/Machine Learning
Successful candidates must pass a background investigation for facility access.
Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science, physical science, computer science, or a related discipline is required.
