Job Title: Sibling Support Worker

Job Summary:

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is seeking a compassionate and empathetic Sibling Support Worker to join our Family Support Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide holistic support to siblings of children with life-limiting conditions, as well as those who are bereaved. Your role will involve conducting 1:1 support sessions, facilitating group work, and collaborating with professionals to ensure the emotional wellbeing of our young clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct 1:1 support sessions with siblings aged 7-18 in the hospice, community, or educational setting.
  • Facilitate group work for siblings living with a sibling who has a complex, life-limiting illness and those who are bereaved.
  • Liaise with professional agencies to advocate for the sibling in multi-agency meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Sibling Activity Coordinator to support sibling-specific trips and events.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a related area, such as childcare, health and social care, or education.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people with varying needs and experiences, including SEND.
  • Experience of designing and facilitating group work, as well as planning and delivering bespoke services to children and young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to manage the expectations of others.
