Job Title: Sibling Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic Sibling Support Worker to join our Family Support Team at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. As a Sibling Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support to siblings of children with life-limiting conditions, helping them navigate their emotional wellbeing and develop coping strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct 1:1 support sessions with siblings aged 7-18 in the hospice, community, or educational setting, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Provide practical advice, resources, and signposting to school staff and family members to support the sibling's emotional wellbeing.
  • Deliver peer support groups for siblings living with a sibling who has a complex, life-limiting illness and those who are bereaved.
  • Liaise with professional agencies as part of the family's support network, advocating for the sibling in multi-agency meetings when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a related area, such as childcare, health and social care, or education.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people with varying needs and experiences, including SEND.
  • Experience of designing and facilitating group work, as well as planning and delivering bespoke services to children and young people on a 1:1 basis.
