Job Title: Senior Molecular Biologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Molecular Biologist to join our team at the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell.

About the Role

As a Senior Molecular Biologist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing molecular biology techniques to support our research programs. Your role will involve designing and conducting experiments, analysing data, and presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments to support research programs
  • Analyse data and present findings to stakeholders
  • Manage a team of graduate-level research assistants
  • Review data for validation of new alleles and analyse production data to improve lab processes
  • Present findings in publications
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • PhD or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related field
  • Research experience involving the use of molecular biology
  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including PCR and Sanger sequencing analysis
  • Experience with gene-editing techniques, such as CRISPR/Cas9
