We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advocate to join our team at Coram, a leading children's charity. As an Advocate, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting children and young people to ensure their voices are heard within decision-making processes that affect their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower and support children and young people to express their views and opinions
- Work with professionals, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are met
- Provide advocacy services to children and young people in a variety of situations, including secure units, psychiatric hospitals, and residential special schools
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote the rights and needs of children and young people
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of advocacy services
Requirements:
- IAQ City and Guilds Level 4 in Advocacy or willingness to undertake the qualification
- Specialist unit in Independent Mental Health Advocacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with stakeholders
- Knowledge of the rights and needs of children and young people
